| ECCA UK Group 2007 Autumn General Meeting and Conference - Darwen, 2/3 Oct. 2007 | ||
| Nearly 40 delegates and speakers attended the conference. Ten papers were presented on different aspects of the environmental challenge to the industry. Delegates from across the industry had the opportunity to discuss the issues and get to know each other over the two days and during the Conference dinner. The event finished with a guided tour of the Euramax Coil Coating line nearby. | ||

| The Autumn General Meeting was held on the morning of Oct 2 nd in Crown House, Darwen, courtesy of Akzo Nobel. Matters that were discussed at the AGM included the chairman's review, reports on the Education Programme, the Distance Learning Project, the plans for the 2007 Conference, reports on environmental issues, and ECCA Europe. Gary Hunt was elected to the vacant Vice Chairman role, and he will take over as Chairman when Rod Rice retires in 2009. The draft budget for 2008 was accepted and the members subscription set. The Conference which started after a buffet lunch was well attended, and the papers were well received. Delegates were accommodated in tha Astley Bank hotel where the Conference dinner was held. The conference concluded at lunch time on Oct 3rd, after which many delegates joined an interesting and informative tour around the Akzo Nobel factory. |

Accommodation was at the Astley Bank Hotel, where were well looked after in very comfortable surroundings and also where we had the conference dinner. | |
